Marc Frishman

Founding Partner
Marc Frishman is the founder and CEO of Toro Capital Energy Partners. Marc’s unique investment career spans over twenty years leading pioneering power, energy, and infrastructure projects around the world with a particular focus on Latin America and the Emerging Markets. Prior to the foundation of Toro Capital, Marc was a Managing Director at Barings where he created the Global Power and Energy Infrastructure direct equity investment business.

While at Barings, he led the InterEnergy Holdings transaction which consisted of a portfolio of companies with power generation and distribution assets as well as fuel distribution, logistics, and broadband telecommunications businesses in Latin America and the Caribbean. Marc served on the Board of Directors of InterEnergy. Prior to joining Barings in 2014, Marc was a Partner at Conduit Capital Partners’ Latin Power Funds where, beginning in 1998, he was responsible for investing private equity in power and energy infrastructure projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Notable pioneering investments included Mexhidro - a “private” hydroelectric power generation portfolio that was the first of its kind in Mexico, Green Energy Libramiento - a 70 km private natural gas pipeline project in partnership with PEMEX in Querétaro, Mexico, Peru Solar - a 40 MWs P.V. solar project in Southern Peru. In addition, Marc was involved in numerous successful investments throughout the region including in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, and Panama. Marc holds a B.A. in History from Tulane University and an M.B.A. in International Finance from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. Marc is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
